POSITION TITLE: 21st CCLC (We Are Community) Program Reading Interventionist

REPORTS TO: Project Coordinator
Position Overview: The Jefferson County School District's 21st CCLC We Are Community Afterschool Program is seeking a dedicated and certified Reading Interventionist to support students in developing essential reading skills. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff to design and implement targeted interventions for students who are struggling with reading. This position plays a critical role in fostering a love of reading and ensuring academic success for all students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement individualized reading intervention plans based on assessment data.
- Provide direct instruction in reading strategies and skills to students, both in small groups and one-on-one settings.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate reading interventions into the core curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and strategies for support at home.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in reading instruction and intervention.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and intervention effectiveness.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g., instructional technology)
